About Author

Mikhal Weiner is a writer, musician, and sometimes Cantor, originally from Israel, currently living in Brooklyn with her wife, son and cat. He has written about controversial topics like abortion rights, global LGBTQ+ rights, food equity and her  experiences as a queer clergy person for diverse publications like Newsweek, Lilith, GO Magazine, Kveller, Motherfigure and Lunch Ticket.

All her work, whether text or music, is deeply influenced by her experiences coming of age as a religious gay woman in Jerusalem of the early aughts. She's fascinated by people's stories, by the places we're from and where we're going, by the narratives we live and the ones we create.
